Second Week of my Internship

I have my rough draft of my annotated bibliography completed; it took a good amount of time due the difficulty of finding service learning and academic libraries. I am writing a literature review and analysis in order to support a case statement on why the stakeholders of the university should implement a service learning center in their library. This will involve finding articles with qualitative research within the article itself. I also have to find evidence to support the outcomes of service-learning in a positive light which isn't difficult, but the qualitative portions I need are few and far between. I have found a few articles that will provide the evidence needed support my literature review. But when I begin the analysis portion I will need to find research that provides a more in depth analysis.  I hope my searches will be fruitful.

This is my first internship and I don't want to blow it, so I have some trepidation in regards to the analysis portion of my work, plus my supervisor wants to merge our work my literature review and analysis and their case statement, so this paper will have to be as professional and up to date as possible. I am finding many holes (missing information needed to support a service-learning analysis) in regards to finding a complete picture of service learning and academic libraries.

FA13 LIBR 294 Virtural Internship SJSU SLIS Program

I am just setting up my blog for the new school year which begins today and I have never used this blog format "Blogger" so bare with me as I learn to navigate this particular platform of social software. This is my first internship and I am quite excited and grateful for the chance to learn and receive some professional experience to add to my resume.

My virtual internship is with the Indiana University East. This particular internship will focus upon building the LibGuide about service-learning. The main focuses for this particular LibGuide includes academic libraries, satellite learning for both hybrid, online students, and  K-12 learning with links, books, videos, and any type of other media I can locate on how to incorporate service-learning into their curriculum. This will be a difficult task due to the limited participation of academic libraries and with hybrid and online student service-learning curriculum. I have begun working on the internship and I am hoping to find additional sources perhaps in other countries that already have a strong grasp of incorporating service-learning into academic and online learning formats. That's all for now. Best of luck everybody.
